The Incredible Transparent Frog

The Glass frog, also known as the See-through frog is a unique species of frog which is endemic to Ecuador and is named for its skin that is often a transparent lime green which is translucent to the point that its internal organs such as the heart, liver, and digestive can be seen through the skin. The motive for this is due to lack of pigmentation.

The Glass frog is very tiny, ranging from 3 centimeters to 7.5 centimeters in length. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist mountains and rivers. This unique creature is unfortunately endangered mostly by habitat loss, although conservation programs have started to help save this “out of the ordinary” creature.

We always tend to forget that this world equally belongs to other living beings as it does to mankind. Hence We keep on killing those belonging to the animal world and are never bothered to think about the extinction of them. I appreciate your effort for publishing a nice, beautiful and at the same time informative post which, hopefully, will stir the conscience of some people and convert them from being sleeping cows to galloping horses in terms of the protection of other living beings on this planet.

Nature is a great teacher!
We learn such amazing things just in her lap! Loving the beauty of nature contributed by her gifts for us, is just knowing the values of those gifts and loving them equally!

Silva, I thought this was a plastic model and not the real frog.

It's impressive but little yucky too.

Still, I'm going to post it to my fb friends. Some of them could really enjoy it. LOL
