Be A Responsible Owner - Spay Or Neuter Your Pet
The most important thing that we can do to save unwanted pets (including puppies and kittens) from all the suffering and death that their overpopulation causes is to spay and neuter them. Spaying and neutering are routine, affordable surgeries that can prevent thousands of animals from being born, only to suffer and struggle to survive on the streets, be abused by cruel or neglectful people, or be euthanized in animal shelters for lack of a loving home.
Consult with your veterinarian about the most appropriate time to spay or neuter your pet based upon its breed, age and physical condition, and let your family and friends know that they ought to do the same.

How To Keep Your Pet Safe And Protected
We are all familiar with the fact that pets love to roam around freely, however roaming away or out of the yard is not only an undesirable behavior from your dearly-loved pet, it can also be extremely risky for him as well as for anyone who decides to chase after him. So why not start looking for solutions! I’ve always been very concerned about keeping my pets safe and protected, so a few days ago I decided to sift through the internet for solutions and I came across an interesting issue that caught my attention immediately. I discovered that you can keep your pet (whether you have a tiny dog, huge dog, or even a cat) in a yard with boundaries that you define by using a “pet containment system” known as an invisible pet fence system.
This type of pet fence system serves as an underground fence that’s completely out of sight. It has a transmitter device which is discreetly placed within your home that will send out a radio signal to the collar that is worn around your pet’s neck when he strays outside the boundary areas. The signal is a mild, harmless stimulation, which does not hurt your pet. To be honest with you, what worried me the most was the impact that the collar would have on the animal and I’m pleased to know that it’s harmless!
These pet fence installations are made to last during a very long time. However, once you have your pet fence system installed and you need to re-configure or repair it you can look up fix dog fence jax fl. There you will find the best technicians that will be able to help you with anything you need, even if you’re dealing with the most difficult wire breaks.
I would really love to know your opinion regarding the invisible pet fence system, so please be sure to leave a comment, Thanks!

The Importance of Taking Care Of Your Dog
Although there are many things that you should consider when owning an animal, there are a few key aspects which will make a difference in the health and well-being of the animal consistently. Feeding it a diet that is full of healthy food, making sure that it exercises on a daily basis, and giving it a comfortable place to sleep are all factors that need to be considered. You should also make sure that you are taking care of the animal by grooming them properly (Source: Dog Grooming Products from PetShampoo.com). This can not only make a difference in the way that the dog looks, is also going to likely make a difference in the health of the dog as well as the health of their coat.
Among all of the dog grooming products that you must choose is going to be the dog shampoo that forms the base for the cleansing process. It is important for you to look at the options that are available and to choose one that is going to suit the dog well. After all, the pet shampoo that you put onto your dog has the potential for getting into their bloodstream. The last thing that you would want to do is to introduce any type of harsh chemicals to the animal which could make them sick. Once you have chosen an organic line of dog shampoo and dog grooming products, choose one that is going to work well on the type of dog that you are grooming. This could be according to the color of their coat or even the type of skin that they have. When you make wise choices, your dog will benefit.

An Animal Is For Life - Not Just For a Day!
Readers, if you are planning on bringing a new animal home for Christmas (or any other time of the year), make sure that you and your family are ready. Everyone has to want a new family member - everyone has to be eager and excited, or it will not work. Keep in mind that an animal is for life, not just for a day!
So, for those of you who are considering a new cat or a dog, one of the most important health decisions that you should make is Spay or Neuter it. Spaying or Neutering your dog or cat will offer your pet lifelong health benefits. It will also immensely improve your pet’s behavior and keep it in the neighborhood - in other words your pet won’t want to roam away from home! And most importantly, Spay or Neuter helps fight pet overpopulation. By having your pet Spayed or Neutered you will be making the right decision. Well, I have no doubt that I did the right thing by Spaying all of my cats!
Another important health decision that you should consider in the near future (the earlier the better) is your pet’s dental hygiene. For instance, unlike us, cats cannot brush their teeth or find an appropriate domestic replacement like a chewing bone; therefore Teeth Cleaning for Cats is significant in order to prevent your cat from having to experience painful and expensive surgery after suffering in silence. Foul breath is often a first indicator of dental disease, so be vigilant. A dental checkup is always performed on my cats when they go to their yearly vaccination appointments at the veterinarian. Their teeth are in better shape than mine!
As I was sifting through the Internet I came across a full service veterinary clinic that has patients of all kinds – from dogs, to cats, to horses, to birds and even to exotic pets. Here you will be able to perform all of your pet health needs such as all types of surgical procedures, Teeth Cleaning for Cats or other pets, and even bird, rabbit or Guinea Pig Care. They also sell unique products in their supply store. This veterinary clinic has everything for your four and two-legged, feathered, scaly or furred pet friend!

The Hairless Dog (Xoloitzcuintli)
In pre-Conquest Mexico hairless dogs were once believed to have sacred significance and were often used as a sacrifice or ritually eaten in religious ceremonies. Due to these practices, the Mexican Hairless dogs barely escaped extinction and it was not until the mid-20th century that breeders began to work towards its recovery. Three Different sizes are recognized – toy, miniature and standard.
Like all hairless dogs, this breed has limited general appeal and remains something of a rarity. Nevertheless, the Mexican hairless dog, also known as the Xoloitzcuintli, is incredibly cute, good-tempered, and intelligent. It is likely to reward it owner with loyalty and affection. The Mexican Hairless dog is a very long lived healthy breed. About 15 and up to 20 years is very common.

The Smallest Dog Breed In The World
As I was going through the internet, I came across the smallest dog breed in the world, which is called the Chihuahua. Apparently it is a highly clever and easily trained dog that makes a pleasant companion. The breed is thought to have originated in China - however it is named after the Mexican state of Chihuahua, where it initially came into prominence in the 1890’s. The Chihuahua’s size means it can be taken anywhere, making it the perfect lap dog.
However people should be reminded that although a Chihuahua may fit into a handbag, it is not a fashion accessory. This cute little breed requires exercise as much as any larger dog. Domineering by nature, the Chihuahua is also an outstanding watchdog and is prepared to stand up for itself even if the opponent is much bigger. As sweet as the Chihuahua may look, it is generally unsuitable for homes with small children, especially if they are not patient and calm, because ill tempered Chihuahuas can be easily provoked to attack.

Cute Frog With White Lips!
image credit jj harrison via wikipedia
Wow… what an incredibly cute frog! With a distinctive white stripe that runs along its lower lip, this tropical species which is known as the White-lipped tree frog is one of the biggest “tree frogs" in the world. Found in forests and gardens, it feeds after dark on insects and other arthropods. As shown on the image, the White-lipped tree frog has large adhesive discs on its toes which assist it while climbing. It spends much of its life in trees, thus being agile when moving among vegetation, but on the other hand, it does not move as well on the ground. During the breeding season, adults descend and females lay about 400 or more eggs in the water. The tadpoles feed on aquatic plants and algae and when they have metamorphosed into frogs they leave the water and make their way up into the trees.
The White-lipped tree frog (Litoria infrafrenata) is on the IUCN Red List for Endangered Species as Least Concern (LC). It has a wide distribution and is adapted to many different habitats.

The Abandoned Dog
A dog sits waiting
in the cold autumn sun.
Too faithful to leave,
too frightened to run.
He's been here for days,
with nothing else to do.
But sit by the road,
still waiting for you.
He can't understand why
you left him alone that day.
He thought you and he
were stopping awhile to play.
He's sure you'll come back,
and that's why he stays.
How long will he suffer?
How many more days?
His legs have grown weak,
his throat's parched and dry.
He's sick now from hunger
and falls, with a sigh.
He lays down his head
and closes his weary eyes.
I wish you could see now,
how a waiting dog dies.

My Cat Pantufa Has Cancer... (Part II)

Today I went to fetch Pantufa at the vet. As soon as I laid my eyes upon her, I started crying… The surgery left Pantufa with an enormous incision (as you can see by the above photo that I took of her a few minutes ago)! The doctor explained to us that the tumor had spread a lot within her body – and that he did all he could to remove as much as possible. He also made it very clear that the probability of the tumor returning was big…
I honestly don’t know what is going to happen to Pantufa in the near future, but all I can say is that at least I tried and will continue to try to do all I can for my very much loved Pantufa... Like I said on my previous post about her… Miracles can happen! I better go now because Pantufa probably needs me!

My Cat Pantufa Has Cancer... (Part I)
Many of my readers have already met my beautiful cat called Pantufa. I noticed a small lump on Pantufas body a few weeks ago - so I took her to the vet immediately. After Dr. Eduardo made the necessary examinations on her he informed me that it was a tumor and that I had 3 options:
Put her through surgery and medication to remove the tumor...
Do nothing to her...
Put her to sleep...
The doctor made it clear that if I chose surgery, it wouldn’t guarantee that she would recover 100 percent! I had the weekend to decide the best option for Pantufa, and believe me it was extremely difficult. I cried the whole weekend… To me she seems so happy and relatively healthy enough so I would never bring myself to put her to sleep. I just cannot imagine her gone… To do nothing to her was also out of the question, so I had to decide and quick. On Monday (after the weekend) I took Pantufa to the vet and I chose to go with the surgery hoping that Pantufa will come through it without a tumor. Miracles do happen…

How Did The Ladybird Get Its Name?

In Europe, during the middle ages (long before the invention of chemical sprays that kill the pests), harmful insects were destroying the crops, so the Catholic farmers prayed to the Virgin Mary for help. Shortly the Ladybirds came to rescue and ate the plant-destroying insects and saved the crops. The European farmers gave thanks to Our Lady (the Virgin Mary) and named the beetle after her. The red wings symbolized the Virgin's cloak and the black spots symbolized her joys and sorrows. They didn't make a distinction between males and females.
Other interesting facts:
- There are hundreds of different kinds of ladybirds all over the world. They come in all different colors, too (red, orange, yellow, gray, brown, black and even pink).
- The spots on Ladybirds fade as they get older.
- Not all Ladybirds have spots.
- A Ladybird can lay up to 1000 eggs in its lifetime.
- Ladybirds will clean themselves after a meal.
- Many countries believe a Ladybird to be a sign of good luck.

Cats And Their Pizza Boxes
My cat (Pantufa) not only loves to sleep on pizza boxes, but also on any type of box! After I had a look at these incredibly cute images of “cats that love pizza boxes” I reached the conclusion that Panufa had many cat friends with the same habit! Apparently for cats, boxes offer a wonderful combination of two of their most wanted things: boxes and warmth … For many more cute images go to Damn Cool Pictures !
