
This bird can be found on all continents except Antarctica. The Peregrine Falcon became an endangered species during the mid-20th century because of a chemical pesticide called DDT which was widely used to prevent insect damage to crops. Fortunately, these awe-inspiring creatures bounced back in most parts of the world since the use of DTT other chemicals pesticides was curtailed. Captive breeding programs also helped with the boost of the bird’s population. Peregrine Falcons can live up to 15.5 years out in the wild.
